Good News for Ford and Digital Marketers

As the Spring 2010 semester is ending and we are finishing our digital marketing campaigns on the fictitious Hyperion Valkyrie EF hybrid car it is encouraging to see that Ford Motors has realized the value and importance of the shift towards digital marketing.  Coming from a company that has lost market share for 14 years straight due to their lack of innovation and acceptance of the surrounding evolution of technology, this is quite big.  It’s also rather fitting that this ephiphany would come from a 47 year old global marketer.  Jim Farley, who has also led marketing departments at both Toyota and their luxury brand, Lexus, has brought a well deserved understanding of marketing to Ford.  Let’s hope that his spot on ideas will prove to lead Ford into its first year of increased market share in 14 years.  See link below for full article:
